Henio is a lovingly restored 1989 Fiat/FSM 126p (a real Polish ‘maluch’).
He was found behind a shed in Stanthorpe, Queensland. Fully restored, he has become the PolArt 2018 mascot.
And now you can win him!
Who is Henio?
Henio is our festival mascot. Lovingly restored, he’s a 1989 Fiat/FSM 126p – a real Polish ‘maluch’. This fiat was typically found in Poland in the 1980s and 90s.
Why was he named Henio? We named him Henio in honour of Mr Henryk Kurylewski, Brisbane’s superstar of Polish dance, song and culture.
We found Henio behind a shed in Stanthorpe, Queensland (they grow awesome apples out there). He was in pretty bad shape at the time.
100kg of parts were brought from Poland to Brisbane for the restoration by Agnieszka and Robert Kowal. Thanks to their determination and passion to restore him, we now have this beautiful mascot.
Henio now loves long drives along the M1 to the Gold Coast, a pamper session at the local car wash and is looking for a new owner.
